If you google "whole protein" (quoted) and "総蛋白", you get dictionary results. If "total protein", a landslide of results. "Complete protein" also falls inside of [med], so this doesn't help disambiguate that term. I *thought* this was a reference to "complete protein", based on the "whole protein" gloss. Japan actually barely has a word for this... 完全なタンパク質 works if necessary, or タンパク質の完全なソース, but it doesn't have a wikipedia page or show up in any advertising copy like "complete protein" (a protein which provides all amino acids needed by humans) would be. |
