For this proposed split to work, we'd need example sentences indexed for each sense, but I think this approach is ultimately clearer.
I should note that even with this split, a single sense may contain multiple meanings of に.

i agree. extremely productive and it's a first-grade kanji with a standard, obvious meaning.  for all these really productive A+B compounds i think we need a higher standard of inclusion (i.e., it is a headword in another dictionary, not merely used somewhere in a giant dictionary)
