Comments: | Most of the kokugos have "Inglez" as the source (Nikk is an exception.) I feel having both is best. |

Comments: | Not sure what the merit is of having the old spelling of this word. The pronunciation hasn't changed. It's a bit jarring, as a Portuguese speaker. Also, it's not a proper noun in Portuguese, so no need for a capital letter at the beginning. |

Comments: | Wasn't clear to me what "regeneration" means as an electrical or electronics term. Googled and quickly found "regenerative breaking", which I was going to suggest as an (e.g. ...). But we have the term, so it seems an xref would be even more useful. I have made a suggestion on github to fold [electr] into [elec]. I'm not sure what qualifies [2] as "electronics" (vs. [elec]). A simple brainless motor(no complex computer) attached to a battery can do this. This term is also used in the term "Regenerative amplification", a field of "laser science", it seems? |

Comments: | I think the thread/yarn glosses are the one sense. The jEs don't split them. No sign of this in the Ichiman collection. |

Comments: | This seems to actually need a split. I see now that 繭糸 doesn't seem to have the きぬいと reading at all. And, in fact, 繭糸 has a まゆいと or まゆのいと reading, for which we currently have no entry. |

|
Comments: | First ref: "both correct, but in general きぬいと is the common reading". sankoko has two entries. The けんし reading is an xref to きぬいと. daijs does the same thing. Daijs and wiktionary both suggest there is a second sense(yarn made of silk thread?). Wiktionary has a third sense related to corn. The "corn" sense is easily verified, and has an analogous English usage. Just google: 絹糸 トウモロコシ And it has a pronunciation restriction, so it would be hard to argue dropping it for merely being a usage by analogy. |

Comments: | I think this entry needs to be expanded: 部会, when used as a suffix, quite often (and depending on the context) means "division or section (of a larger organisation)". For example, in our newspaper we find the expression 八漁協種苗生産部会 in a headline, which refers to an entity named 八重山漁協サンゴ種苗生産部会. Spelled out in yet more detail, this is the サンゴ種苗生産部会 (a division) of the 八重山漁業協同組合 (this headline is not refering to a meeting but to something newsworthy that group of people has done). And some JEDIC entries of this kind: 作業部会 【さぎょうぶかい】 (n) working group; task force 金融活動作業部会 【きんゆうかつどうさぎょうぶかい】 (n) Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering 国防部会 【こくぼうぶかい】 (n) (org) National Defense Division |

Comments: | I think I have to edit this twice for the xrefs with "5". Could do (esp. of English), but in any case these aren't universally basic sentence structures. They are specific to English sentences (and maybe coincidentally related languages, but this is Japan, so...). Is this [ling] or [gramm]. Since I'm here, I'd say gramm, as the is applied textbook material. 5文型 is objectively more common and seems to stand alone in context(including as a book title, 1st ref). I would argue that the old gloss is [lit], but that the meaning is actually identical to the xref. Of course "5文型" could refer to any 5 sentence structures in any language in an appropriate context... But they would be unlikely to be SV, SVC, SVO, SVOO, SVOC. |
