Comments: | Searching for "capacitor" to see how to handle "resistor" and saw this wasn't marked either. The distinction for [elect] vs [elec] seems a bit ill-defined. I have started a github conversation on [elec]/[electr]. Seems somewhat bigger than any one entry. |

|
Comments: | First ref: "both correct, but in general きぬいと is the common reading". sankoko has two entries. The けんし reading is an xref to きぬいと. daijs does the same thing. Daijs and wiktionary both suggest there is a second sense(yarn made of silk thread?). Wiktionary has a third sense related to corn. The "corn" sense is easily verified, and has an analogous English usage. Just google: 絹糸 トウモロコシ And it has a pronunciation restriction, so it would be hard to argue dropping it for merely being a usage by analogy. |

Comments: | Saw the comment ちっさ(an entire sentence) contrasted with ちっさくねよ! Not as common as ちっちゃい, but hardly uncommon it seems. It would be nice if there was a shorthand for "abbr of related term, all senses". Though I'm not sure if this is actually all senses of ちいさい. Maybe probably? I can only say for certain that it applies to voices as well as small objects. It seems likely to be emphatic, but maybe it's just style/dialect. We don't mark おっきい as emphatic in any case. |

Comments: | ちっさ might see a bit of a renaissance here... If you google it you'll get a mountain of pictures of one character from the popular anime Frieren. She says it at a comical moment (using magic to see through a man's clothing...). But Frieren didn't invent it. Funny the relationship between ちっさい (I just added this)、小さな and ちっさ. Various online comments claim ちっさ is an [abbr] of ちっさい, which may be true. But that doesn't seem to change the fact that this has also turned it into [adj-na], in parallel with 小さな (which looks a lot like 小さ[adj-na] with an obligatory な, where the stand-alone term must become 小さい... But ちっさ can stand alone.). The usage was a simple exclamation "it's small". Is this an [abbr] of [adj-i], or is this [adj-na]. Or both. Or maybe it's a parallel derivation (shortening of ちっさい, an emphatic form of ちいさな). Whatever the case... |
