But we have the term, so it seems an xref would be even more useful. I have made a suggestion on github to fold [electr] into [elec]. I'm not sure what qualifies [2] as "electronics" (vs. [elec]). A simple brainless motor(no complex computer) attached to a battery can do this. This term is also used in the term "Regenerative amplification", a field of "laser science", it seems? |

Comments: | Hit this incidentally... Suggest switching to [elec], but see github post on [elec] and [electr]. First ref is someone trying to interpret a Japanese parts manual. So this is relevant information to some people. It basically appears that "condenser" is a super-obsolete term for "capacitor", at least most of the time. "styrol" is also dated. Google book results for "polystyrene condenser" land you mostly in the 1940s and 50s. "styrol capacitor" in the 1980s. The two glosses given will put you squarely in the present(given the technology is still mostly outdated). Every combination of [polystyrene|styrene|styrol] + [capacitor|cap|condensor] will yield some results, but I hesitate to suggest obsolete or highly dated terms without warning. Not quite sure how to do [lsrc] from an English gloss that I think we shouldn't give. "polystyrene cap" is even more common than the full form. "cap" could be given for any gloss of "capacitor" anywhere though, it's a super-common abbreviation. |

Comments: | Don't care a whole lot about this term, but there's an abbreviation on another term I was looking at (スチコン) Objectively speaking, the out-of-order "convection steam oven" seems more common. Could list both... We already have コンベクションオーブン. |
