It's a commonly used "set piece" much more common than other similar constructions, and seems to have become cemented as the most accepted PC way of saying "mixed race" (plus alpha for more inclusiveness). I don't think it's comparable to an example sentence. 

Maybe it should be glossed as adj-f rather than a verb, though.

I feel this is a bit too obvious (i.e. not idiomatic) for an entry. Looks more like an example sentence.
