The author does not "distinguish between the two usages" but rather explains that ダサい is used for more than just appearances. I don't think the split you're suggesting is clear-cut or helpful. Why is the ダサい that describes a song/name/catchphrase/etc., more similar to the ダサい that describes an action/behaviour than to the ダサい that describes clothes or hair? A ダサい邦題 isn't "pathetic". It is uncool/lame, though, in much the same way an outfit or hairstyle might be. Which sense of the word is being used in ダサいポーズ? It wouldn't translate as unfashionable/ugly but it's still a comment on how something looks. When someone describes a 暴走族 as ダサい, it's typically in reference to their image and behaviour collectively. I don't think the distinction you're describing reflects how the word is used or conceptualised by native speakers.
And I'm not sure it's necessarily true that it "most commonly refers to clothing". Search ダサい on Twitter and not even half the results are clothing-related.

The author distinguishes between the two usages.
  Comments:
With due respect, I don't think it's about differences in English glosses at all, but a clear distinction in the Japanese between the most common usage, relating to clothes, and at least one other type of usage relating to more abstract things such as behavior and sure, a multitude of other things. Imagine a coversation where a Japanese person is called ダサい. Their first thought might very well be that their fashion sense is being called out (see the References box) but the utterer could respond "ちがう、服じゃなくて行動がだよ。 "

I'm not going to keep raising this but I would appreciate it if you could consider my proposal one more time. The entry as it's now certainly casts a wide net and covers most of the usage, but it's also all over the place, and it doesn't make it clear it most commonly refers to clothing.
16. A 2023-09-05 17:25:33  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I don't find the argument convincing. Context is key. You're describing a distinction between English glosses. In Japanese, it's all the same sense. The matter is closed.

I realise getting good references for colloquialisms is a challenge, but a subtitle added by a translator to an anime is not really enough to justify creating an extra sense.

Re the noun/adjective issue, this is often a struggle, as the dictionary examples indicate. The n-grams indicate that noun usage is far less common than adjectival/prenominal, so I'd be comfortable with using adjective glosses and adjusting the POS accordingly.
Re the use of "celibate", as you can see it's in several dictionaries. I think its meaning in English has drifted a bit and probably it's best omitted now.

I'm from WaniKani and our user requested to add "celibate" as the meaning of 独身, referring to jisho.

However, "celibate" appears to describe someone who refrains from marriage and sexual relations (独身主義者), rather than simply indicating an unmarried status or person. We request "celibate" to be removed from the meaning.

Also, 独身 is more commonly used as an adjective (as in "single" or "unmarried"), rather than "bachelorhood." So I recommend moving "bachelorhood" as the third meaning instead of the primary meaning.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yukata vs Kimono: What’s the Difference?
https://shop.japanobjects.com/blogs/editorial/yukata-kimono
An alternative to the yukata for men to wear in the summer is jinbei. Jinbei are two-piece garments consisting of a kimono-like top and loose-fitting, mid-calf length trousers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinbei
is a traditional set of Japanese clothing worn by men, women and children during summer as loungewear.[1]
jinbei were originally menswear only, though in recent years, women's jinbei have become popular.

Ladies' jinbei tend to be more brightly coloured, and often feature prints of popular culture characters and motifs.

レディース甚平

You can shop for Jinbei on amazon U.S.:
https://www.amazon.com/Jinbei/s?k=Jinbei
  Comments:
xref will need to be aligned.

Evidently no longer limited to men. Eminently googlable:
"レディース甚平" 909
レディースじんべい	52

you can shop for "jinbei" on american amazon. recommend handling like "yukata" entry.

"short jacket and trousers" doesn't clarify much. And the jacket isn't even short, it's long. The sleeves are short. And traditionally there were no trousers. Quite traditional looking Japanese clothing.

the dated daijs gloss seems to say "sleeveless knee-length haori, summer, indoors, men and boys, traditionally with a sash/belt"
https://kotobank.jp/word/甚兵衛-82534#E3.83.87.E3.82.B8.E3.82.BF.E3.83.AB.E5.A4.A7.E8.BE.9E.E6.B3.89

I've offered the smallest gloss that isn't wrong, and gets the consistent-over-time points across.

Alternatively, if the constituents must be defined, japanobjects.com did a pretty concise job (for a modern jinbei):
    two-piece garments consisting of a kimono-like top and loose-fitting, mid-calf length trousers

But this leaves off the nuance of summer, informal, in-the-house, etc.

How much information are we willing to include in a gloss/expl?

Didn't used to include pants(if we claim pants, may mislead readers of not-that-old texts). Was more of a long robe
Used to be men only (maybe 30 years ago?)
Then men & kids
Now popular with men, women, and children
Traditionally for wear around the house
But you can wear it out on some occasions in place of yukata, maybe?
Traditionally simple single-colored fabrics
Now sometimes ornately decorated (for women in particular)

コップに入れて飲ませる日本酒。また、コップで日本酒を飲むこと。
  Comments:
Looking at ngrams and yourei, the usual use is a variant of コップ酒を飲む. That is, "served in a cup" is more informative than "drinking from a cup". This is also the first entry in daijs. This is definitely *not* [vs], so even though daijs also indicates drinking, I'm not sure how this would be done grammatically.

Google image search result confirms that コップ酒 is not カップ酒. daijs also agrees.

The "sake sold in a cup rather than a bottle" looks like an attempt at "カップ酒", and is not the same as [1]. It looks to essentially be the result of a spelling error/confusion.

Potential resolutions:
1. Just simplify the gloss, as I've done.

2. Add the xref here, just in case. (not usually done for spelling errors, but コップ カップ is an endless source of confusion (for me at least)).

3. Add a gloss [2]:
[2][n][rare]
  [note="mistaken reference to カップ酒"]
sake sold in a cup rather than a bottle (or unify with the xref)
  [see=カップ酒]

4. If the error is common enough, add コップ酒 as [sK] to the entry for カップ酒.

Here's an example "mistake" that comes up in an image search: "コップ" appears once, カップ is used ~15 times.
http://www.osakemirai.com/archives/12132928.html

Unlike me, I don't think native Japanese people generally have a problem with the コップ カップ distinction...

kalavinka [迦陵頻伽] (;  karyōbinga): A bird said to possess a voice more beautiful and melodious than any other bird.
“Sage lord, heavenly being among heavenly beings, voiced like the kalavinka bird, you who pity and comfort living beings, we now pay you honor and reverence.”
some Buddhist art depicts it as having the body of a bird and a human head.

Wikipedia:
Kalaviṅka is a fantastical immortal creature in Buddhism, with a human head and a bird's torso, with long flowing tail.[4]
The kalaviṅka is said to dwell in the Western pure land and is reputed to preach the Dharma with its fine voice.[4] I
...but in Japanese Buddhist art, it has been portrayed with an upper torso of a winged boddhisatva (i.e., having hands and arms), with a birdlike lower extremity.

Wikipedia page says used to refer to geisha, courtesans, etc. with a beautiful voice
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/迦陵頻伽
また、日本では美しい芸者や花魁(おいらん)、美声の芸妓を指してこの名で呼ぶこともあった。

http://koreantempleguide.com/gareungbinga-and-gongmyeongjo-kalavinka-and-jivamjivaka-가릉빈가-공명조/#:~:text=The Sanskirt name of Kalavinka, described as having Buddha's voice.
The Sanskirt name of Kalavinka means “a beautiful sound” in English. And it’s believed that the Kalavinka has the most beautiful, the purest, and the most delicate of voices found in Buddhist texts. For this reason, the voice of the Kalavinka is often described as having Buddha’s voice.
  Comments:
Didn't seem like a name would be [yoji]... If it is yoji, it would seem to be as in reference to a beautiful voice, not as the creature itself. That would be a second sense, no?

I've edited the [expl] to include the bits central to the the metaphorical use. That said, not all religious traditions agree on what this creature is precisely.

Sometimes "just a bird", but usually represented with the body of a bird and head/arms of a human. jitenon.jp shares this view, as does daijs. (i.e. the Japanese tradition)

Google search reveals mostly human+bird imagery.

Did we really gloss a religious figure as "imaginary"? :) The kokugos do this too (想像上), but still...

"sings sweet notes" seems like quite an understatement. (see refs)

Particularly interesting from wikipedia:
In Japanese text, it is sometimes written not phonetically, but under translated names myōonchō (妙音鳥, "exquisite sounding bird"),[3] kōonchō (好音鳥, "goodly sounding bird"),[3] among other rendered names.
