It seems the "kneelings and prostrations" come from 三跪九叩.

If I'm not mistaken, 三拝九拝 is literally "three bows and nine bows." Jitenon also offers the other interpretations that I described in a previous edit.

I wrote mahjong in scare quotes but I didn't state my point explicitly. It's not clear to me that this sense is specific to mahjong and requires a field tag. None of the other Chinese numeral entries listed in my notes below are tagged this way, although they are all (with the exception of 二【アル】) used just as frequently in mahjong vocabulary as 二【リャン】.

It seems these Chinese numerals (including this entry) may appear in Japanese in contexts other than mahjong. None of their respective kokugo entries mention mahjong. Also, the reference notes in entry 2728160 二 (アル) refer to Chinese restaurant words listed on Wikipedia.

Without contemporary examples to refer to, I can't be 100% confident about the glosses for sense 2 but "rudiment" and "element" don't fit my reading of the definitions in daijs and nikk.
I've tagged that sense as rare but it might be obs. Nikk's example (which is supposed to be the oldest recorded use) is from 1947 but daijr's is from 1877.

In English it seems "dado" is mostly used to refer to the section of a wall above the skirting board. The term originated from the pedestal meaning.

GG5 says that 台胴 refers to the pedestal, which makes sense given the kanji. The corresponding word for walls is probably something like 腰壁.
