	Comments:	I'm just trying to make sense 2 coherent In my understanding, there are always three people involved: A, B, and C A is trying to contact (or visit) C through whatever means, but instead only gets hold of B. It falls on B to convey this information to C. Therefore, B acts as an intermediary between A and C. With this set of glosses, there should be a clear link between senses 1 & 2, where previously there was none that I could see.

	Comments:	I ran across this in a book as 取り継ぐ (in the context of a boss telling his secretary 誰も取り継ぐな), and while I couldn't find 取り継ぐ defined anywhere, the reference link does show a case where 継ぐ and 次ぐ are interchangeable in a phrase. 取り継ぐ gets 1840 google hits, while 取継ぐ only gets 90 hits, so please feel free to delete that kanji if you think it doesn't merit inclusion.
