The word itself often has negative connotations, regardless of what kanji are used. Daijs and smk have two senses.
棲家 doesn't have negative connotations (or refer to animals) in 終の棲家.
I think the 栖 count is mostly false positives.
住家 is usually じゅうか. Only daijs and nikk have 住家 for すみか. I think じゅうか should be a separate entry.

Sense [2]
Context: a dragons nest: 魔力のこもったものを営巣の材料にする
translated as "objects infused with magic"

In [3], the subject is the thing doing the filling (hence our placeholder of "the room").
It would seem that it is the same in [2]. If the subject is the "emotion/enthusiasm/etc.", it seems inconsistent to structure this as "to be filled with". This suggests something like 手紙が愛情にこもった.

I added an [oft] note which I think clarifies what's going on. Maybe that and the xref are enough to clear up what is happening.

Now that I look at it, [3] really has the same problem. "to be heavy with", "to be stuffy", "to be dense" (should this be "to be dense with...smoke, etc."?).

For purely practical reasons, maybe a dedicated entry for こもった makes sense? I found two [expr] here that use it(and xref'd them), but if you find こもった in the wild you have to be able to turn it back to a verb to find this entry, and it seems like ~のこもった is a pretty common and useful structure. The sankoku examples use this structure (意味が~、心のこもったおくりもの)

I included もの in the [note] the way I would include [something] in an English gloss as a placeholder for any noun.... This seems clearer to me with than without, but that's just my take.

- Is 中華そば really soba (buckwheat noodles), or is it in fact just ramen?
- It seems that at least the "ramen" sense should be moved to the start of

No change to the above.

When I searched for "ぜに", the following came up:-

Search Key: ぜに Current Dictionary: Jpn-Eng General (EDICT)
Partial match - original key: ぜに [G][S][A] Propose a new entry for ぜに, or search all dictionaries.

When I clicked on "all dictionaries" the above came up.

When I searched for "銭" the entry came up OK.

Maybe just an oddity, but I thought that I would report it just in case it may be useful.

I think it's worth having. I'll leave this open a bit longer in case any better gloss is suggested.

I'm not really seeing the use/purpose of the [lit]. "Clean cotton" isn't used in English.

i think it's useful
"校舎裏" has a pretty specific distinct image in pop culture, for example you see it often in anime for 告白/romantic confessions etc.

It's better to leave it blank than to guess. None of the refs have this word tagged as サ変 to begin with.

Daijirin's definition for this word is equally ambiguous as to what "directly" means. Daijisen and koj say something like "方便などの道によらないで…". I interpret that to mean "without using the lessons or techniques that were taught by Buddha."

Shouldn't all new vs entries have transitivity tags? Seems weird to leave out on approved entries.

Also, what does "directly" refer to here? Clarification needed.
