It's not slang. 圧巻の can be seen in plenty of content published by news organisations, NHK, etc. It's so widespread that even [col] may no longer be appropriate.
I think vs usage should be a separate sense. This is definitely [col] and should maybe have a "proscribed" note.

all kokugos specify that it's not a well-known story/episode
i think this is why sankoku added a new sense for the common and seemingly paradoxical use as "有名な逸話" (see the sankei article)
someone might argue this is similar to "anecdote"'s etymology, but i still agree with sankoku's choice and think it should be divided in two senses

そこには札束がいくつも入っていた。
There were bundles and bundles of cash.

This concept is what 札束 seems to refer to:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_strap
Bundling money together with a simple elastic or paper device is as old as paper currency itself. However, measured and standardized straps are a relatively new idea.

https://www.frbservices.org/resources/financial-services/cash/depositing-ordering/visual-reference-guide.html
  Comments:
Image search. Not a roll. (at least not principally)

sankoku says かさねて束にした (stacked up and wrapped?). While I guess this might be applied to a rubber-banded roll of bills, this is not the primary meaning, and it would be covered under [2] in any case. "bundle of cash" will handle a bankroll as well.

If you wanted to translate "roll of hundred dollar bills" into Japanese, I don't think this term would do it.

Stab-in-the-dark, I google image-searched 札束 ロール... Lots of images came back. The American money is in rolls, the Japanese money is still in stacks ;)

Perhaps culturally the Japanese don't roll their bills? ロール 万円札 returns a couple of images from a stock photography site, but otherwise all still flat.

I'm confused about sense 3. Wikipedia lists two separate meanings (alignment in D&D style games, and the meaning used in video games), and I'm mostly familiar with the latter meaning.

I'm fine with keeping "alignment" (D&D meaning) but "character class" usually means the character's _profession_ (warrior, ranger, cleric etc.) and has little to do with 属性

水属性の敵 means an enemy that's probably strong against attacks that classify as "water" but weak against attacks of a different type. You would do well to choose an attack that doesn't do water damage, or equip items that provide resistance to water damage (because the enemy deals water damage)

I would translate this simply as "element" most of the time, even though the categories don't always match the classical four or chinees five elements. "type" would be a good translation too.

The wikipedia page on currency uses this as [1]:
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/紙幣
帯封で束ねて札束にして整える

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_strap
A currency card, currency band, money band, banknote strap or bill strap is a simple paper device designed to hold a specific denomination and number of banknotes.[1] It can also refer to the bundle itself.[2]
  Comments:
Moved the wikipedia headword "currency strap" to the front. Amazon results include many names, but "self-sealing currency straps" comes up first for me, and seems pretty reliable in search results.

Any evidence for [2] "rubber band"? This feels like a few simplifications were made from "thing that wraps a newspaper", losing sight of what the original term means.

I don't think there is any such thing in English as a "newspaper band", at least not one that would be readily understood.

image search: 帯封 新聞
vs. image search: "newspaper band"

sankoku has [2], in detail. This doesn't exist in English, so any gloss without an [expl] is going to be missing information.

note: sankoku says: 新聞など, so this isn't strictly limited to newspapers.
Another useful search: 帯封 郵便

One result is the postal service (with illustration):
https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/service/pm_packing.html
新聞等:
帯封をします。

In the U.S., historically, newspapers were delivered by paperboys with lists of addresses (hence no 帯封). In my experience, mail-delivered newspapers(etc.) have a sticker affixed directly to the paper with the delivery information. So, again, I don't think 帯封 can be simply glossed into English here.

Is this really an expression? I think for plant names like this that are derived from a "の" expression and are more commonly written in katakana, we normally just say they're nouns.

Saw in kyōgen
(Calling at a house by saying 物申、案内申 (example given in both dicts) – today one says ごめんください instead.)
Slight contrast with 物申:
* 物申 is announcing one’s presence
* 案内申 is requesting to be shown in
This is a bit subtle, and both are basically “hallo”, but 案内申 comes second, is compared with 頼もう & 取り次ぎ, and is the next step.
(I’m interpreting these two as “Hello, I’ve come” or “Pardon, please show me in” etc.)

I don't think there's anything wrong tagging "beef" or various -肉 entries as [food]. Nobody uses words like 鶏肉 or 鶏肉 to talk about the flesh of chicken outside their use as food.

I think the accepted name for this phenomenon is just "crowd collapse." When someone falls in a very dense crowd, the pressure of the crowd causes more people to fall into the void created by people falling, and so on.

  Comments:
I don't think 入 and 切 are words here. Rather, they're characters representing "on" and "off". Someone who replied to the question on 知恵袋 says the same thing "「入/切」は『「ことば」になっていない単なる文字".
That explains why the reading suggestions are all over the place: いり, いる, いれる, にゅう, etc.
I don't think this should be an entry.

  Comments:
Conversation with coffee manufacturer (Nespresso) revealed "toasty" is the most appropriate English word in the context of coffee aroma, e.g., 香ばしい香り = "toasty aroma." It might be helpful for other translators working on coffee-related translations.
