  Comments:
"dominating" or perhaps "controlling".

Monopoly (独占) is not adj-no. ngram の collocations don't look particularly like "oligopolistic".

I think it's a disservice to say this is [vt] without offering a verb(/gerund) because it's not straightforward to get from "oligopoly" to a verb.

I was going to put "oligopolizing," but this is a joke term, and is not used in practice in English.

It's not "dominating a market" either, as in the ref, "market" is explicitly a separate item: DRAM市場の95%を寡占して

[1](古用法) 親切。
[2]交際が親密であること。ねんごろ。

"close relationship" comes up a few times. Saying "close friendship" might be saying a bit too much.

  Comments:
"kindness" did not seem to fit the others in [1]. After searching, seems there is a distinct sense in the kokugos, so I have split.

Not confident on what to do with [2] because it's hard to find clear examples of. wiktionary just says "親切", kokugos say 親切な心. [2] seems absent from sankoku, wiktionary marks 古用法. First reference likens to 「親切な気持ち」や「好意」, I've xrefed the latter. [dated] suggests old-fashioned, this seems to be no longer in use, in favor of a different common meaning, so I've guessed [obs].

For [1], seems like the usual collocation is ~にしている, but we don't have that one. ("to be on intimate terms with", rather than "become close friends with"). Might be worth adding, in eijiro:

be on friendly terms with

「懇親会」「親睦会」「懇談会」の意味の違いと使い分け
https://www.konshinkai.net/contents/003-1/

Similar claim here:
https://chigai-site.translate.goog/4848/
  Comments:
[1] and [2] have started to look very similar...

For [2], 記者懇談会 is used as "press conference" (i.e. for the White House). This would benefit from "discussion session". I think I'll add that too, as I've found other examples.

For [1], two different refs claim a pretty stark nuance difference between this and the related 懇談会(which we have as: social gathering; get-together; (friendly) meeting). This term is getting together to discuss a matter, maybe food will be served or whatnot, so it is somewhat informal. 懇親会 is a meeting to get to know each other and have a nice time).

As with 懇談 itself the number one (and quite-common) reverso gloss for this is just "meeting"(then "conference", "gathering", "panel", ...). (vs. 懇親会, which is commonly "social gathering").

#1 undocumented-in-ngram use is probably book *titles* (which is also adj-f/adj-no). After that:

From the top collocations, books:
必携情報集	77764
必携の書	39154
必携の一冊	33045
必携書	19266
必携の書籍	15285

必携本	8436
必携の一冊です	7468
必携ハンドブック	3385
必携マニュアル	2839

Possibly not books:
必携アイテム	14026
必携のアイテム	11174
必携品	7569
必携の機能	3300

Reverso is all adjective usage(I include 何々は必携だ as an adj. usage: "is indispensable" vs "is an indispensable item" ).
https://context.reverso.net/translation/japanese-english/必携
  Comments:
nikk and daijs both order them this way. sankoku doesn't give [2] at all, but its example is [科学ー・ー書]

nikk's [2] doesn't really look like a separate sense. It reads simply: ② 特に、ハンドブック。 It does not appear from ngrams that 必携 is often used by itself to mean "book"(or that it is used as any kind of noun at all):
必携の	260221
必携が	194
必携は	722
必携を	906

For that, it also seems more useful to give [1] as an adj-gloss.

Google image search shows a lot of guidebooks self-anointing themselves with this term. For something super-modern and unremarkable, see for example a guide to HTML and CSS:
Web制作必携 HTML&CSS全事典
https://book.impress.co.jp/books/1121101140

Amazon search for 必携 claims over 10,000 results... (appears almost entirely books)
https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?k=必携&crid=J8PTAZ0XSA7U&sprefix=,aps,239&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

eijiro, besides "must-have" being prevalent, adds "companion". That's pretty interesting as a noun gloss, but can't be given as an adj. Note how this is presented though:
必携
companion〔書名に使う。「~の手引」、「必携~」など。〕

English example:
The CSS Companion

Splitting sense 1.
らんる only has the first two meanings. It's also marked as〔文〕in meikyo and sankoku. I'll split it out into a separate entry.
We wouldn't usually put adj-f and adj-na together but I think it's appropriate here. Daijr has a 形動 sense but it typically appears directly before the noun. Sankoku has a "造語成分" sense for this usage.
We don't typically use the gikun tag when the entry only has one reading but maybe we should. This is a discussion for GitHub but it might be better if [gikun] went on the kanji, not the reading, so that we're more like the kokugos. We would no longer be able to merge gikun/jukujikun readings with other readings but I think I prefer that approach.

The various 胡麻 forms add up to more than 3%. I don't think it should be tagged as rK. The ごま摺り count comes mostly from ごま摺り団子, a product name. The kokugos only have "printing" for 摺り.

Apparently すんません is 関西弁 so I suggest merging it with the すんまへん entry.
Can we drop すぃません and スィマセン? I know the n-gram counts are quite high but so many words can be written with small kana. People do it to sound cute. It's not standard orthography and I think it looks out of place among the regular forms.

older version of nikk (on sakura-paris): 「ウンスン」はum sum(mo) ポルトガルか。一説にウンは大黒・福禄寿などの福の神の絵札...
more recent version (on kotobank) skips the "um summo" theory entirely: カードの呼び名の内のウンとスンとによる称。
(the two court cards unique to unsun and not in tensho decks are called "un" and "sun". their values are 14 and 15)
I think the alleged Portuguese origin of the word is just poorly founded speculation that's been thoughtlessly reproduced in various
dictionaries and encyclopedias. The earliest known mention of the game in literature is from the 1680's, long after the Portuguese
were gone.

I think it should be [arch]. There are other terms such as 睡眠不足 (current entry) and 睡眠遮断 which are in the references and which are used for the medical condition. 現責 seems only to be used to refer to the Edo period punishment. I don't think it meets the "term itself is still in current use" criterion for [hist].

> "arch" (archaism). This is typically used to indicate that the term was primarily used during or before the Edo period.

> The "hist" (historical) term does not fall into this category. It refers to a past event (e.g. battle, ceremony) or concept (e.g. an art-form common in the 18th century), but the term itself is still in current use.
  Comments:
I'm inclined to agree that [hist] makes more sense than [arch] for specific concepts that have not been replaced by modern exact equivalents. But it seems this is contrary to the current editorial policy.

The argument on 2858694 by Jim was that the term must still be in current use for it to be [hist]. I don't know if hypothetical papers written about the subject would make the term qualify as being still in use.

Just because a word is occasionaly written with a kanji doesn't mean that the word is an accepted kun reading for that kanji.

not in sankoku. no yourei examples. 0 ngrams. not on eijiro, mainichi.jp or twitter, except for in the title of a playing card/game (懇到の騎士).

nikk and daijs both list 懇切, which is super-common, though possibly more broad.

potential xrefs both have adj glosses.

Not sure that these glosses capture the nuance correctly. I think this word describes a type of relationship characterized by a high degree of mutual understanding. Something closer to "finishing each other's sentences," "reading each other's minds," "operating on the same wavelength," etc.

The current glosses are closer in meaning to something like "being mentally acute / alert / sharp" or "being able to read the room."
