Comments: | It sounds plausible that 歯科 could be used colloquially as an abbreviation of 歯科医, 歯科医師, etc., but since it's not in any references, I feel we need to see some examples of actual use. I've done a bit of Googling looking for cases where it's used in the same contexts as 歯科医, etc. but no success. |
|
1. | A* 2022-09-04 16:37:03 Hendrik | |
Comments: | From personal observation I know that people use "歯科" colloquially like "歯医者", perhaps simply as a shortened form of "歯科医" or "歯科医院". Is there a way to account for this in the dictionary? I don't know, however, if this colloquialism is specific to Okinawa or more widely obervable. |

Comments: | I really don't think we can expect our users to understand that "as たって" (or "as ~たって") is supposed to refer to a verb in the past tense +って. I think we should be explicit. Also, I think we should get rid of the たって entry, even if it's in the kokugos. I don't think it makes sense in a wa-ei dictionary. I'd much rather we covered that use here. I don't think anybody encountering [past tense verb]+って is likely to arrive at that entry rather than this one. __ I think "indicates supposition" was a bad take (it was mine). |

Comments: | Maybe it's not formally one, but I've seen this used as a verb more than a few times when reading stuff. For example 苛烈で、力強く、荒ぶりながら鋼鉄を燃やす。 「ひよりん、もしかして今、けっこう荒ぶってる?」 The second sentence was verbally read as あらぶってる too. So I think the verb pos should be added somehow, even if it's informal. |
