Comments: | Here's why I have ordered and restricted the kanji and readings this way: The spelling "はじき音" is a Wikipedia entry (see refs). The spelling "弾き音" is a headeword in 大辞泉 and スーパー大辞林 (electronic). Counts of spellings in Google n-grams: はじき音 1596 弾音 469 弾き音 440 Out of the last two: 弾き音 is slightly (but perhaps not significantly?) less frequent than 弾音, but 弾き音 is a headword in major dictionaries. The frequency of the writen forms suggests that the reading はじきおん is more common. The reading はじきおん is also explicitly used for the written form 弾音 by 鹿島 央 (2002) (see refs). As for the senses: Based on the adopted terminology (and whether you distinguish the two), it can mean either "tap" (鹿島 央, 2002), "flap" (大辞泉, スーパー大辞林) or both (Wikipedia). |
