Comments: | The kokugos define this as "ムラサキイガイの別名" but ムール貝 is used to refer to a number of different species. "blue/common mussel", which is several of the JEs, is Mytilus edulis, but the most commonly sold ムール貝 in Japan is the Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis). lsrc tag not appropriate here as "貝" doesn't come from French. I don't think "moule" is used in English. |
