This sounds quite a bit different than the definition of "ghost population" on Wikipedia ("population that has been inferred through using statistical techniques"). To me, the kokugos make it sound like there is an intent to mislead. |

Create a single conjugation table for [vs-s] and [vs-c]. Something like this: plain: 愛する, 愛す polite: 愛します negative: 愛さない, 愛しない neg. polite: 愛しません past: 愛した ... Link both [vs-s] and [vs-c] verbs to this table. This is the approach adopted in jwiki(サ行変格活用) |

Comments: | It's a standard way of making romaji "round trip safe". Hyphens don't work if you try and convert the romaji to kana. |

Comments: | I've been working on identifying glosses in jmnedict that are transliterations, but I wasn't expecting to find an apostrophe used like this. Is there reason for it? Could we use a hyphen instead? I usually only use apostrophes for ん -> n' |

Comments: | In the source, all readings are given in katakana. I think that was just a stylistic choice to highlight the strangeness of it. AFAIK we only use katakana readings in jmnedict for foreign words. This is more gikun than anything else. |
