Comments: | there are a number. search for 'アイタムを', for example. it's unquestionably a typo, but the general policy seems to be that typos should stay as [ik]. reference for sense 2 has been given. if it's in a dictionary you're going to have a hard time proving that it's ~never~ actually used that way, unless you document every single web hit. but if you can suggest a better translation for sense 2, feel free to do so |

Comments: | We do, but German and French use the Latin script natively. "kimch'i" is just one of several romanisations of 김치. In Yale Romanization it's "kimchi". In Revised Romanization it's "gimchi". As long of one of these romanisations is used as a gloss, I don't think we need to repeat it in the lsrc tag. |

Comments: | It doesn't refer to the principle/policy itself. In all the examples in the refs, it comes straight after a noun. I don't think 一本やり itself is adjectival. I don't think the third sense is needed. It's only in daijs and it's not how you'd say "one/single spear" in modern Japanese. The other kokugos have "槍一突きで勝負をきめること" but it's archaic. |

I feel the citizenship part is very important. This is often the only way these people really are Korean - by citizenship. Linguistically, culturally, they're often entirely Japanese. Some are not even fully ethnically Korean but half-Japanese but still "Zainichi Korean" by virtue of their passport. |

Comments: | I don't have details from the 2005 submission. Checking WWW hits only brings up false positives (plus references to here.) Kanji's "yoji" tag may have been influenced by them too. The n-grams probably reflect the same false positives. Frankly, I don't think it's really needed. |

Comments: | I don't think we can read too much into hit counts because in English you wouldn't usually use "offline" at all to refer to these sorts of gatherings. You'd just say "meetup", "get-together", etc. I'm not convinced that "offline meeting" is a common term for this (even after looking through tweets and other online results - most of them are not referring to オフ会, and those that are are typically written by non-native speakers). Compare Google image results for オフ会 and "offline meeting". They're completely different. "Meetup" clearly dominates. I like "get-together" and "gathering" because they better describe this sort of event. |

Comments: | I saw the kanji in this and was confused why it would mean that given what 誘 usually means... then looked up 誘発 realized it probably just didn't. Reference is the first google result I get for 陣痛誘発剤とは, others seem to indicate the same. The daijirin definition I get (I'm not sure what version this dict is) is >陣痛が始まっていない妊婦に対して,陣痛を誘発させる働きをするホルモン剤, so I guess this is just an oopsie. |
