Pretty sure sense 1 isn't [adj-no]; it would be 中絶した.

Certainly the いらいら+する family dominates, but I wonder if this should perhaps be a case where the noun should dominate the POS ordering and glosses. GG5 leads with noun glosses followed by a ~する batch. As usual 中辞典 just has いらいらする. Daijirin has two sense tagged "(副) スル" and "( 名 )". Interesting that it classes the adverb form as the base for the する. There are 61 examples sentences and ALL are for いらいら+する in various forms.

Also, the に in 満面に isn't adverbial; it marks an indirect object.
If the に is dropped, as in 満面笑みを浮かべる, 満面 becomes adverbial but I don't think "*with* one's entire face" is correct. You can't say something like 満面笑う.

I propose to strip this back to the original form and move the additions to a separate 御題/おだい entry. We can discuss that at arms length.

"winning" by itself is definitely too vague since the word refers
to winning a specific hand rather than winning the game.

I think we should avoid phrasing the definition as a verb since
this term refers to the concept of winning rather than the
act (which would be 和了る[あがる] or 和了する[ホーラする])

it's been a long time since I've dabbled in mahjong but the word "winning" doesn't sit well with me.
the word is often used as a clickable button in computer mahjong implementations, alongside the ubiquitous "chii" "pon" and "kan"
I think the meaning is something like "accept the hand you have and declare that you have a winning hand"
the gloss might be better as "declaring a win" or something?

the kyowa page: "1966年(昭和41年) 商標登録"
Daijr also mentions its a trademark: "商標名。"
I agree it has probably been genericized, which is likely why it's in Daijr in the first place.

  Comments:
Didn't mean to suggest that the gloss had any sort of explanatory
power. It seems I just misunderstood the purpose of the [tm]
gloss type.

Is there any evidence that ビニタイ is a specific trademark and
not just a generic term used for the ties? The kyowa webpage has
ビニタイ listed alongside other generic terms like ゴムバンド.

ビニールタイ gets some n-gram hits, and a web image search brings
up the same products as ビニタイ. My guess would be that the
viny-as-in-vine story is a false etymology invented by the
company to add flair to their brand. Judging by the search
results on amazon, ビニタイ looks like a generic term and
viny-ties seems to be one particular brand.

The original word is not "vinyl tie" but viny-tie(s) per the kyowa page (they are the trademark holder). The intended meaning of "viny" here is apparently 植物のツル (vine) - it's not a reference to "vinyl". I don't think a single English-language page using "viny-tie" is reason enough to include it as a gloss.

It seems just about every popular video game inevitably spawns
adaptations into different forms of media (manga / anime / film /
novels / live-action television) featuring the same characters,
storylines, and settings. The line between "product" and "work of
art" is already somewhat blurry, but it would seem odd to me to
single out games into a different category than those other
mediums only because they're interactive software.
2. A* 2022-05-03 03:07:36  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I have no problem with tagging manga and anime as "work", but I suspect video game series are perhaps more appropriately labelled "product". Any opinions on this?

Japan and North America since the release of Shin Megami
