If someone asks "what is the Japanese word for lizard", the obvious answer is "トカゲ", even though technically a gekko may be a lizard but not a トカゲ.
But it is not easy to find this entry by searching for "lizard".
I propose splitting this into an everyday non-technical common usage sense and a technical biologically precise sense.
