No, as を here doesn't mark a direct object but rather a space through which someone or something moves. Compare with 公園を歩く, 空を飛ぶ, 京都を流れる川, etc.

There are quite a few entries with these sorts of letter-only forms which have [abbr] tags.
9. A* 2022-04-27 23:56:08  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I agree that "GW" shouldn't be a gloss. It's a clunky way of handling the issue.
See comments on 2718850 for discussion about abbr on acronyms/initialisms. Although I said an argument could be made for including it on Japanese-made acronyms, I'm not sure it's a good argument. For the sake of consistency it's probably best not to use abbr for any acronyms/initialisms. I note that daijr and daijs don't define "GW" as "ゴールデンウイークの略".
8. A* 2022-04-27 08:31:27  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I think we've decided that Japanese-made initialisms should get the abbr tag.
(though my actual preference would be to tag all initialisms as abbr)

Having "GW" as a gloss is useful for look-ups, but so would be including "KY" in the KY entry, because the exact same issue Jim described will come up there. ultimately it's a problem that I really don't think we should be handling on the gloss level.

Which is why I never use Google with Japanese search terms without quotes. There is a clear mismatch between the n-grams and the Google returns, but the KM n-grams, which use better parsing, are similar. I don't know what's happening but there are enough real hits for me to accept it.

Very much 光 + 入力, but probably common enough. As a prefix meaning "optical" the reading is almost always ひかり. When searching for ひかりにゅうりょく, Google suggests 光入力. MeCab/Unidic agrees.

By itself it means "reservoir; pond" and is already in JMdict.

  Comments:
Hmm. There are over 2,000 names entries ending in 池 (some end in 貯水池, 調整池, etc.) I haven't the energy to hyphenate them all. I feel "pond" is possibly better than "lake" for many of them.
3. A* 2022-04-28 23:57:02  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I think it's better with the hyphen. Shows that 池 is a separate word.
Surely it's helpful to indicate that it's a lake?
