Comments: | I don't think any of these senses are suffixes. Although it's in GG5, I think the "hiding place" sense is archaic/obsolete. It's not in the other JEs or meikyo/shinmeikai (or even daijs). Daijr's example is from the Meiji era. I don't think the "underbelly" sense is needed. The kokugos describe it as a "江戸後期の流行語". |

I don't think we absolutely have to include 穴/めど anywhere but I don't really see why including it in the 針孔 entry (per daijs) would pose such a big problem. 5/6 readings in that entry already have kanji restrictions, so it wouldn't make the entry much messier than it already is (which really isn't all that messy). |
