n-grams previously posted, ずら never appears. Do an advanced search for kanji-ends-面, reading-ends-ずら. This is the only result. Compared to 28 entries ending in づら.

Maybe it's a spelling mistake, but it's a rare term to begin with, and I'm sure you could make an argument to add ずら to the other 27 面 entries, plus hundreds more if we went down that road.

I don't know how ずら got in here initially, but it doesn't seem useful. (Was going to [sk], but don't see the point).

The fact that "あばたずら" yields search results seems to be principally a side effect of being in this (and related) databases.

https://www.english.cam.ac.uk/elor/lo/adverbials/index.html

I would say "2メートル" and "20マイル" are both definitely adverbials. But again, if we did have those as entries and they only had the literal meanings, I don't think it would be meaningful to tag them as [adv] or [adj-no], though they could be used as both. But the 2nd sense here is obviously different. What exactly is the difference between tagging that sense as an adjective and as an adverb?
7. A* 2022-02-19 20:32:20  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>

I don't think it's adverbial. Tanaka has 軍隊は20マイル前進した; I'd call that more the object.

  Comments:
It is my understanding that "2メートル" in "2メートル前進する" would be considered an adverbial, yes, but I don't think it'd be productive/helpful to anyone to tag entries like that as [adv] just like how I don't think we should stick [adj-no] on just about any noun. It does seem obviously useful to put it on the second sense though just as much as having that sense tagged [adj-no]. The point about "2 meters" not really being an adverb per se also applies to whether or not it's an adjective, does it not? Is "2メートル" an adjective in the phrase "2メートルの距離"? If it's fine to call the second sense an [adj-no], surely it's also fine to call it an [adv].

I've been convinced that adv should be added to sense 2. As it's idiomatic, the original part(s) of speech don't necessarily apply. It's similar to how "180" in "He did a complete 180" is a noun, not a numeral.

Thank you for the correction, but the イケメン you're
thinking of is a separate entry (id 1156496); this is a
kanji pun on that word (and the gloss is correct). I

this is tagged obsc, I assume most should display the

https://motto-jp.com/media/lifestyle/blood-type-personality-in-japan-a-guide/ People with the blood type personality O are known to be eccentric. They are optimistic and can easily get along with everybody. Whenever faced with a problem, they can control their emotions to avoid creating a negative vibe among other people. Being visionaries, they focus more on the picture with high confidence. Because of this, they are sometimes viewed as arrogant.
  Comments:
Useful to have? I feel this is often the hidden and true meaning behind questions and answers about blood types in Japan. Even ja.wiki often lists blood types for celebrities. I think this is nuance that could be helpful for clueless gaijin like me.

  Comments:
I prefer this to the previous gloss because it's more
literal - and the word doesn't necessarily have to to
refer to a minority etc. or even a person, as the
previous gloss made it out to be. (the chiebukuro example
I posted was "あっち系の話し [...] 私は、今、胸が大き過ぎて困っ
てます")

the second sense doesn't really have to be spelled out as
it is just a subset of sense 1, but I think it is quite
common and when hearing the word I imagine many will
think immediately of homosexuality.

It's a struggle to find any usages of *パイ. The top google
search results for "あがりパイ" and "上がりパイ" all lead back to
JMdict, which makes me very suspicious. I did manage to find at
least a couple tweets and a blog post which use あがりパイ, but I
don't think that's enough to prove that it's a regular reading.

However, for what it's worth, my IME's autocomplete prefers
あがりぱい over あがりはい. I think it's probably just wrong.

I've ordered the kanji forms based upon google n-gram counts.
I'm a little suspicious of 上がり牌 since I don't see it in any
formal dictionary (they seem to prefer 和了牌), but it does get a
respectable amount of usage on twitter.

The n-gram counts for アガり牌 are low, but a twitter search
shows that it's not uncommon.

History:
11. D 2022-02-17 09:58:30  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Yes, "ゼロ型" -"血液" confirms that too. I'll add 0型 as an iK in the O型 entry as you suggest.
10. D* 2022-02-17 09:37:35  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
The few entries about this are explanations saying that O型 was actually originally 0型. not in Japanese but in the original German. ゼロ型 can also refer to a number of different other things which becomes apparent if you google for "0型" -血液.
I don't think this can be called an established term meaning "type O blood" and having this as an entry can be misinterpreted. I wouldn't mind including 0型 as an iK in the O型 entry but it doesn't belong here as a separate entry.
9. A 2021-11-13 04:53:29  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
If it was just 0型 I'd happily ditch it, but with 1814 in the n-grams for ゼロ型, and that form relating to O型, I think it should stay.

I suspect this is at most a typo/OCR mishap in those cases it does refer to type 0 blood.

一部のプログラムでは、カラー パレットは「スウォッチ パレット」と呼ばれています。
  Comments:
I don't think we need absolutely all of the words/terms used in Photoshop/Illustrator, but there's a certain subset that's commonly used outside of the confines of their interfaces, and thus useful. Any word used by either or both of these apps will also be used by other similar apps as well as a general rule (GIMP, CorelDRAW, etc.). In this particular case, I think this word would have been worth including even if the word wasn't used outside of these apps precisely because we didn't have any coverage whatsoever for "スウォッチ", anybody coming across it might have a hard time realizing it's a rendition of "swatch".
8. A* 2022-02-18 00:35:01  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
In this case it's not an issue as the word is used with its original English meaning(s), but if it weren't, "swatch" would be insufficient because none of the dictionary definitions of "swatch" would apply to スウォッチ.
I'm not convinced we need to add terms that are only used in a particular application, even if it's an industry standard. We don't have separate Photoshop-specific senses on other entries. But in any case, there are probably very few (non-compound) words in Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. that aren't already entries in jmdict.

I think it's better just as "swatch" as it's evidently used outside of software too.

I don't agree that we need to explain that this or similar words might be specific to Photoshop/Illustrator. Anybody dealing with anything printing or design-related can come across these words on the web and elsewhere. That they might or might not be specific to the software that everybody in these fields are using doesn't seem all that relevant to me.

Unless it's become generic, I don't think it should be an entry. Surely Illustrator and Photoshop use hundreds of words with application-specific meanings.

I found this unexpectedly hard to gloss. "violent death" also includes suicide and accidental deaths. "homicidal death" doesn't include manslaughter. "manslaughter" doesn't include homicides. "violent killing"/"deadly assault" is close but this refers specifically to the death rather than the assault i.e. the subject is the person who died. "15歳暴行死" refers to a 15 y-o who was killed, not who killed somebody.
