Looking at this more closely, I think the modern usage is mostly for the "migrant worker" sense. Reverso has heaps of matches with that meaning and almost none of the "working away from home" sense. Also, the usage of でかせぎ and デカセギ is quite small. I don't really think it can be regarded as an abbreviation of 出稼ぎ労働者. As Daijisen has it "また、その人。". I see the one example sentence is for the "migrant worker" sense.
I suggest reversing the sense order.

Yes, it's more civics than politics. There are only two other entries using the tag. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time. GG5 has a 【政】 tag but only uses it on two entries.

I don't think it's needed. Not sure I see the value of a politics tag.
