I've seen this as the word the dial or face of a watch, and I wasn't able to find another word in this dictionary with that meaning, so perhaps it can be added to this entry.

It's literally the only way it's used in that sense. The dictionaries are being overly explanatory. It's a kaiseki dessert. Nobody goes around referring to fruit or sorbets as 水物 in any other context.

I know it's our usual practice to omit nakaguro from the readings of acronyms, but many references, e.g. GG5, include them(*).  The online Kenkyusha server will find the entries with both forms despite only displaying one of them. With the availability now of the [sk] tag, I'm wondering if it's time to review our approach and include the nakaguro version(s) as search-only forms.
(*) the kokugos tend to use a hyphen, e.g. シー‐ピー‐ユー, in the displayed form.

I disagree,I think it it just that idiomatic and not really covered by the base entry. I'd be likelier to translate it as "suddenly" than "when I realized".
