Comments: | While the exclamation mark is not essential to understanding the gloss, I need to point out that about 300 entries have them. If it is interfering with reverse lookups in Jisho.org, then it should be taken up with that site. I'll email Kim about it. |

Comments: | No change to the above. I wonder if you would consider giving a cross-link to:- おかしい 《可笑しい(P); 奇怪しい(iK)》 (adj-i) (1) (uk) funny; amusing; comical; laughable; ridiculous; (2) (uk) strange; odd; funny; peculiar; weird; unusual; eccentric; (3) (uk) improper; unsuitable; unbecoming; (4) (uk) suspicious; (P) The former with 1m hits on Google, the above with 100m. The main entry above is a useful inclusion and it would also be good to note the above entry as a link; especially as kanji are not normally used for these in the text. The link and the common kanji background would give the clear relationship between the two entries. |

6. | A* 2022-11-14 23:53:04 Robin Scott <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | I'd agree that they're less important, but I'm a little uncomfortable with making forms search-only when they're not variants of one of the visible forms (i.e. 異体字 or 旧字体) or irregular (e.g. 変換ミス). Users who come across 礎案 and look it up might be confused if it doesn't appear anywhere in the entry. That being said, 礎案 is so rare that it probably *should* be considered irregular. A Google search returns only a tiny handful of real results. I do wonder why the shinmeikai editors felt it was worth mentioning. On reflection, sK is probably fine here. But I think we should handle these 〜とも書く forms on a case-by-case basis. |

See for example 霑す in entry 1341810 |

Comments: | How could those poor people at Kenkyusha have got it so wrong? In fact 教皇領 literally means " the Pope's territory" and applies to both the historical Papal States and the current Vatican City. The term "Papal States" may be historical in English, but 教皇領 isn't necessarily so in Japanese. That's why I suggested "rare", but maybe it's best without any tag. |

He proposed this as an amendment, but I think it's better as a new entry. |
