Comments: | Yes, it's just a colloquial (usually spoken) form. The い -> え conversion can be done with any i-adjective. Our policy up to now has been not to include these forms, with the exception of すげえ. I wouldn't object to adding some of the more common ones as search-only forms. |

|
12. | A* 2022-11-08 00:31:47 Robin Scott <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | I still don't think it's needed. As an auxiliary verb, おく can be used with all sorts of verbs. する is just one example. If we have this, we'd need to add the other auxiliary verb senses as well. Daijs has 2, GG5 has 3, Daijr has 5. |

Comments: | (sorry for the double-post, the whole intention was to keep my edit, and secondarily vote to delete) ルミネ and GG5 notwithstanding, if there isn't other evidence that this is a "word", I don't think we want to treat every occurrence of a dropped を、で、が、の etc. as a "word" (especially when rare). Perhaps I have misread/mis-researched this term, but this is what it appears to me to be. If it stays, I stand by my suggestion that this have a [note] giving the common form (not sure of the optimal wording). We can't xref, because ハサミで切る would never pass an obviousness test(nor do I think it should). |

Comments: | 顳 is rarer than it looks, since 顳かみ is also a valid form. I use two fonts for reviewing kanji, a handwritten font which is missing a lot of uncommon kanji, and a stroke-order font that has *almost* everything. I was shocked to find the stroke-order font had 顳 but not 顬. This may indicate there is a reason why "顳かみ" pops up as a valid form, even though both kanji seem equally esoteric to me. Comments: | Most of the "migrant worker" translations on Reverso are 出稼ぎ労働者. 出稼ぎ (on its own) much more commonly refers to the act. All the top online results for デカセギ are about Japanese Brazilians. I think it should be a separate entry. |

Comments: | Looking at this more closely, I think the modern usage is mostly for the "migrant worker" sense. Reverso has heaps of matches with that meaning and almost none of the "working away from home" sense. Also, the usage of でかせぎ and デカセギ is quite small. I don't really think it can be regarded as an abbreviation of 出稼ぎ労働者. As Daijisen has it "また、その人。". I see the one example sentence is for the "migrant worker" sense. I suggest reversing the sense order. |
