Even "pout" is not quite correct, (and the first ref comments on this), because this indicates a very particular facial expression.  One reverso instance even says "pout-like". We don't appear to have a word for this in English, so "pout" is  often used in its place.

Image search is consistent with the cheek-puffing definitions. For me, "sullen" is a somewhat more severe state than ふくれっ面 seems to imply. I think the simplest thing to do is drop the additional glosses (sullen, sulky,...), which say nothing about the *manner* in which the expression is performed.  If needed, we can add an [expl] or comment that says "as a signed of annoyance/anger/etc.".  

See しかめっ面 (frown; scowl; grimace).  I don't think "look"/"face"/"expression" are necessary.

The xref might be a bad idea. 口を尖らせる is "to pout" in keeping with the English definition.  But it's explicitly not synonymous.  more of a "strongly related" term.

Was really tempted to include "hmph face"(given by the ref.).  Certainly the English-language images match, but I don't know how well understood this would be.

daijr (損なう): （動詞の連用形に付いて）（ア）…するのに失敗する。「ボールをとり―・う」「書き―・う」（イ）もう少しで…しそうになる。「死に―・うところだった」「おぼれ―・う」

に is not a particle here. It's part of the -masu stem of 死ぬ.

Our style for years has been to tag terms with 助詞 embedded in them like this "exp". Do we really want to change that? It impacts thousands of entries.

daijs: 死なずに生き残っている人をののしっていう語。

I don't think "exp" is right. It's just "名" in the kokugos.

Note to align with xref when settled.  As a final comment, I think "sulky look/face" is close if you think it's absolutely necessary, but I really think "sullen" is off the mark(too severe).

sankoku places this entry *under* a top-entry for the xref.  writes this in hiragana as as ふくれつら(under ふくれっつら). I agree the づ would usually go there, but this seems like an exception. yourei seems to confirm that even if old kokugos list it, づら　is at least obsolete.  (if we leave it unmarked, learners will convince themselves it's "fine" either way, which is a problem because づ is what you would guess).

It could mean an obsessed person or a delirious person too. I don't think this is safe.
