daijs (at least on kotobank) does have the
pref sense.
I prefer the non-pref senses split because 1)
that's how we usually deal witb entries like
this and 2) we can include the gloss "stereo
player"

If we could come up with more than one English gloss, I feel "bloop" would be fine. But alone, I agree it's a little weird, it would seem
like we're saying it's a better translation than it really is.
How's just "nurupo"? We can come back and remove the gloss once Jmdict 2.0 is functional

I came across it in a text discussing something in a 1980 context and the meaning intended was "walkman".
The link you posted is just a search result from Rakuten, not a category of items, and none of the headphones appearing on that
first page seem to have "ヘッドフォンステレオ" in their titles.

I'm wondering if the dictionaries are a little out of date here, and the term is more commonly used now for "stereo headphone(s)".

Maybe "bikini armor" should be a gloss rather than just in the lsrc as 1) a "skimpy armor" isn't necessarily bikini-based while ビキ
ニアーマー is and 2) while Japanese anime/manga stuff dominates the search results, there's some non-Japanese stuff too in google
books. (a quote from a Manhattan-based publisher, Irene Gallo, in a 2015 issue of Uncanny Magazine, the phrase appearing in a Cory
Doctorow book from 2016, among other things)
