"to pretend" should be a separate sense. Also, the glosses for the third sense we have seem to be
specifically for 失敗/醜態を演じる. They're common usages, so glossing the verb that way is probably useful,
but I think we should lead with "to behave" per the kokugos/gg5.

きな粉(きなこ、黄粉)は、大豆を炒って皮をむき、挽いた粉である。加熱により大豆特有の臭みが抜け、香ばしい香りになる。
Since it's the beans that are roasted rather than the flour, I think it's better to put "roasted soybean flour" at the head of the definition. Of course, kinako can be simply called "soybean flour" or "soy flour", so that could be added.
Wikipedia has "More precisely it is 'roasted whole soy flour.'" so that term could be added too.

saw this comment on reddit:

"In my experience on Jisho the only definition that has been entirely wrong is the definition for:
目に入れても痛くない
Which is defined by Jisho (jmdict) as
thinking the sun shines out of someone's eyes
being the apple of one's eye
loving someone dearly
Here's the J-J definition:
めにいれてもいたくない 【目に入れても痛くない】 普通、異物が目に入ると痛くてたまらないものだが、溺愛(デキアイ)する者の場合はかわいさが先立ち、何でも無
批判に受け入れる、という形容。
Assuming you can understand the J-J definition, your reaction to the jmdict definition should be "wtf, neither the meaning, the nuance, or
the usage, is described at all"."

I don't agree with the poster, I don't think our glosses are actually wrong and I don't think the "nuance" described in the J-J definition
of "normally when you put something in your eye it hurts, but..." is necessary, but this part "何でも無批判に受け入れる" should maybe be
worked in there somehow. There's probably No need to use eye-based glosses either considering the Japanese usage is so different.

I thought about adding "sense of urgency" , but I think that's really stretching it. 緊張 is about tension, not urgency. Something being urgent may lead to tension, but that doesn't make it part of the set of meanings.
6. A* 2021-09-29 15:30:28  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Thank you for taking the time to argue your
case, it is appreciated, as are your
contributions to the project (something we're
not always very good at making clear).

The "best answer" in the hinativethread you
linked to was in full:

"Suppose you are a figure skater and about to
do your performance. If you get too nervous,
you cannot move smoothly and won't get a good
result. That's how we say as 緊張. However, to
concentrate on your performance with a sense
of tension is important for a good result.
That sense of tension is ‎良い緊張感, or we often
say 良い意味での緊張感."

The (apparently bilingual) person is still
chosing to call this "positive" feeling a
"sense of tension" in English. When I
suggested I could imagine a US sportsman talk
about a "good kind of nervousness", this is
what I was referring to. I think the usage is
basically the same in English. I disagree with
your assessment that the current glosses fail
to capture the meaning of いい意味での緊張感. I
think "nervousness/sense of tension, in a
positive sense" captures that usage quite well
so I don't really see the need for additional
glosses, let alone a separate sense. There's
always room for improvement though and we
might be able to refine sense 1. "sense of
urgency" maybe fits in there, but I'm not
really sure, the connotations of it feel
slightly different to me. I'll let somebody
else weigh in on that.
5. A* 2021-09-29 14:37:39  Jacob Albano <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Marcus: 良い緊張感 is not a phrase in and of itself. 良い is being used here to *specify* "the good kind of 緊張感"; they go on to say 良い意味での緊張感 which is obviously a complete descriptive phrase. My comments on 緊張感がない are relevant here as well.

Jim: It seemed more helpful to me to add a new sense rather than adding the (positive) meanings from my suggestion into the (negative) sense we already have. 緊張感 is very much akin to テンション, in both its literal meaning and also the way it can be either positive or negative based on context; we have two separate senses for テンション that capture this.
At the very least, this 良い意味での緊張感 is not captured at all by the existing sense for 緊張感.

I agree with Marcus. An EJ dictionary wouldn't include a "上に何が..." sense for "what's up?" just to cover usage like "what's up there?" Also, "what it is" isn't so much a separate sense as a different parsing of the words.
The "so what?" meaning is more interesting but I'm not sure it's needed as an entry.

I don't think that first sense belongs here. When it comes to literal and other meanings of expressions that aren't included
in other dictionaries, I think we probably err on the side of inclusion a little too often. Sometimes we have to trust that
users will understand that an expression can be a set phrase while also have another meaning if it appears in another
context, that isn't really worth noting.

I'd be ok with just deleting this too.

I'm not sure the filler note is needed (based on the description in the Nikkei article)

I'm a little "weirded out" by this (for lack of a better word) because ゆうて is orig. Kansai-ben of 言って, something I hear often, but
I've never heard it used like described above.

I don't want to add every single sense from 言う and try and give them conjugated glosses, what a nightmare of an entry that'd be, but
if we allowed for entries without definitions (which I think is planned for JMdict 2.0?) I'd like to add a sense that looked something
like this:
