Suggest removing [news1].  ngrams disagree, and a current search of mainichi.jp doesn't return much, except historical articles.

The other terms in jmdict 逓信大臣 and 逓信省 are both [hist].  Odd to suggest making an entire once-common noun [hist], but sankoku does not even have an entry for this term. 

(by comparison, sankoku does still have 逓減, for example)

The (e.g.) is already trying to point at [hist], it seems.

Still survives in place names, such as 逓信病院

It's a tricky one. I assume that many (if not most) 〜主義 terms *can* be used adjectivally with の, but I'd probably include them among the groups of nouns that we don't *need* to tag as adj-no (alongside countries, languages, colours, etc.)
I wouldn't object to dropping adj-no from all 〜主義 entries.

Hm. I guess I'm not really sure about the 主義's. Looking at the top ngram lookups for エリート主義の, I think only エリート主
義の教育 could really be viewed as adjectival. Looking at twitter, I see some stuff that would be best translated as 
"elitist". I guess it might be useful to have this and other -主義 entries (but not necessarily all) adj-no tagged. I'm also 
interested to hear what other editors (Robin) think(s).

Sorry, I forgot to respond to this. I don't think this belongs in the names dictionary (or the main dictionary). It's not the name of a specific work but rather Bach's made-up word for "Fugue". Also, for a katakana-ized word, 700 hits isn't much at all.

It's the sort of thing you'd have on a Wiki page about typhoons, but I don't think it's really dictionary entry material.

That's a pretty significant commitment, Nicolas, to keep all typhoon entries continually updated. 
Remember that JMDict has been around for 30 years and might very well be around for 30 more, if not more still.
I think this is the kind of thing that's more suited to other kinds of databases, like Wikipedia.

Regarding your second point, I wouldn't mind adding the other 台風第NN号 entries and keep them updated, if there's consensus to keep this. I don't see how it's obvious, though.

A few comments:
(a) it's not a "named entity" as such; it's a nomenclature system used in Japan for typhoons. A bit like "5th District Court" or "7th Congressional District".
(b) I can see it's probably useful to record it somewhere, but not here.  I can't see it really fitting into the main dictionary unless we were to put in the full range of 台風第NN号. After all, it's a bit obvious, especially its full form such as 平成5年台風第13号.

Can we just leave it pending so more editors get the chance to see this?
