Comments: | I see all the references have this as two entries: 退ける/除ける/のける - all senses 退ける/どける: sense 1 only While the merge sort-of makes sense, it probably is a bit aggressive and makes for messy sense restrictions. Comments: | Or [rare]. Image search for "葷辛類" looks like the meiji-era drawings. Twitter mentions are in reference to the various stone monuments. Seems to be mostly limited to some fanciful stone signposts. "Do not enter if you've defiled yourself, or something like that." This is what shows up in the ngrams as well. Some historical prohibition on 葷辛 for some reason. |
