Comments: | I think it would be OK. We've done a similar thing with ブラシ/刷子, ランプ/洋灯 and ポンプ/喞筒. "gikun" marks a kanji reading so a uk tag isn't needed, and 緬甸 is obsolete whether it's read めんでん or ビルマ so "obs" is still fine. |
|
17. | A 2021-08-13 00:19:49 Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
Comments: | I'd leave it alone. I wouldn't want ビルマ in two entries, and if it went off to the 緬甸 entry as a "gikun" reading it would have to be "uk", and the "obs" would have to come off, etc. et. |
|
16. | A* 2021-08-12 15:58:02 Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
Comments: | Should we drop the note and instead add "ビルマ" to the 緬甸/めんでん entry as a gikun reading? |

Comments: | “Lofty peak” feels a bit weird, and doesn’t really add any searchability or additional context. 高山 seems to simply represent high mountains only, and probably wouldn’t be used to refer to an area of low/sub-alpine mountains, for example. Mountainous region would be 山地 or 山岳地帯. I think we should leave out the area glosses as it could be misleading |

I guess anyone encountering it can always go digging into the full set of meanings for 実況. I'll leave this open for a couple of days. |
