Comments: | Kojien is great but you need to be wary of its sense ordering as they are based on historical usage rather than contemporary. The JEs only have our current sense 3, which is plainly the most common modern use. Although we usually have senses that are prefixes later in the entry, I think it would be appropriate to make it the first one here. I think the propose sense is related, but perhaps it's best kept in a separate sense. I propose dropping じょう; it's only in Daijirin (「じょう」とも) and only applies to one sense. If this (re)ordering is approved, please adjust the xref target sense in 2427720. |
