Comments: | 泻 is a very rare kanji that only arrived in the JIS standards in 2000 because it occurs in a couple of place names. I can see no evidence that it's used as a stand-alone alternative for 潟 in Japan. I don't think it should be included, even as an "rK". |

Comments: | As Wikipedia says "Originally formed as a joke .." but it's out there and you can buy and sell it. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, but it exists and people are using it as a currency, crazy as it seems. |
|
5. | A* 2021-05-16 22:43:11 Robin Scott <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | It's a "joke" cryptocurrency. I don't think it should be in the main dictionary. It's been in the news a lot recently because the price spiked after Elon Musk started tweeting about it. I wouldn't object to moving イーサリアム as well but it has the second-largest market cap after Bitcoin so there's a case for keeping it here. Bitcoin is what started it all so it's definitely worth having ビットコイン in JMdict. |
