Comments: | Replaced [restr] kanji for "counterfeit goods (esp. Chinese)". I *think* this was a copy/paste oversight with the wrong kanji, as 山寨 is the kanji used in the original references from 2021. 山寨 for "counterfeit goods" is clearly proportionally more common today than it was when the google n-gram corpus was built in 2009. I was tempted to suggest that the forms should be re-ordered, but it's quite hard to tease out relative statistics when so many Chinese results are mixed in with google search results. Probably not critical either way. |

Comments: | It can be used to refer to visits too (渡米 recently of Suga's visit to the US) but I think it more often refers to a (semi-permanent) move than a shorter visit. I suggest removing "visit to XXX" from all these entries and just have them be "going to XX". "going to" encompasses both visits and moves, in line with the original Japanese. |

I think it oft does imply a (permanent or semi-permanent move). some examples from kotobank (for 渡米): 小学館 和伊中辞典: ◇渡米する andare [(移住する)trasferirsi] in Ame̱rica [negli Stati Uniti] prog: 山田一家は渡米した The Yamadas 「have left for [have gone to] the States. (didn't pick and choose, these are the examples as I saw them) "visit" doesn't seem quite right for these, I think all of those sentences are about multi-year or permanent stays. |

Comments: | In daijs, unfortunately. Google returns basically nothing but some dictionary entries. Almost nonexistent on twitter. Maybe the rarest term I've yet seen, and can be literally constructed from the meanings of 利かす and 粋 if someone so desires. Should be no less valid than 粋を利かせる, with latter not having an entry here because it doesn't have a dedicated dictionary entry. (I'm currently matching up 利かす and 利かせる entries). I won't try and create 粋を利かせる, but it's a small inconsistency/distraction to have one entry without the other. |
