Comments: | It seems they are. The above mention things such as availability, uptime, purity, precision, accuracy Should those be mentioned in a note? or just leave it at "nnnn nines (i.e. 99.9..9%)"? |

Comments: | Are these "nines" in Japanese not used in the availability sense they are used in English? This is a very common term in computing. |

Comments: | Yes, some consistency with these would help. I suggest that for all of them we have "nnnn nines (i.e. 99.9..9%)" No "eng" or "wasei" needed. |

Comments: | Daijirin has a similar but shorter explanation. Sense 1 is not really a noun that can be used adverbially; it's more an adverb (from 遅い) that can be used as a noun. Perhaps "adv,n" is a better POS for this. |

Comments: | We're still at a stage where "immunity passport"/"免疫パスポート" is put in quotation marks every time it appears in print. All sorts of new terms are being coined and used by the media during this pandemic. I don't think we need to add them just because they're common, especially when the meaning is easy to derive, as is the case here. I believe we should be more selective about which ones we include while the pandemic is ongoing. We can always add them later. |

Comments: | It's most likely due to imperfections in the old IPADIC morpheme dictionary that Taku Kudoh et al. used in 2007 to generate the n-grams. It probably has 伝存し as a distinct morpheme, and might even have 伝存する. Both IPADIC and Jumandic have an issue with compounds being included as morphemes (日本語 was one of them), which played hell with proper analysis. The compilers of Unidic, which I used to build the KM n-grams, have taken a much stricter line on this. When I see anomalous n-gram results like this I usually cross-check with the KM ones, as the ratios there are usually more plausible. |

Comments: | Yes, the n-grams are a bit old now (2007 for Google, 2004 for KM), and may miss common recent formations. Raw Google WWW counts are close to useless - this is the firm advice of senior people at Google. For しごおわ Google initially reports "About 58,000 results", but only initially shows 40 results. The Twitter results are interesting and more contemporary, so I'm inclined to accept it on that basis. |
