Comments: | [rare], remove [vt] Came here because I am suspicious of vi,vt entries. sankoku specifically says vi, and has both senses. daijs online doesn't specify. But in the daij entry, it gives 「将来を―される」for sense [1], which is not a transitive use of する, but of させる, which we would not generally mark as vt in jmdict. (This is a discussion I'd like to have someday, but not on this term) There is also a third definition to do with improvising poetry or music off-the-cuff in daijs. I spent a lot of time thinking about clarifying the glosses, but 嘱目 is super rare. I saw a news article give a full definition of the term, others put it in 「」 and add furigana, and twitter posts are mostly bots offering definitions (like, "advanced SAT vocabulary"), not-so-common in the wild. 嘱目されている appears on twitter about once per *year*. (you can find the offhanded transitive をする use of this verb in the wild, but random people will add をする to anything). |

Comments: | I agree it shouldn't be a separate entry. I also agree that it probably isn't needed. It's another example of a form I'd put in a hidden kanji/readings field so that users are directed to the right entry if they do happen to look it up. |

Comments: | If it really is needed, I think it should just be an ik-tagged kanji in the 基づく entry (no need to include the incorrect reading, I'd think), not a separate entry. But it's so rare (0.1-0.3% of 基づく) it'd also qualify for rK (as I'm currently applying it). Do we really need to include kanji that's both ik and rK? Personally I don't think so. |
