I feel the citizenship part is very important. This is often the only way these people really are Korean - by citizenship. Linguistically, culturally, they're often entirely Japanese. Do we need "one's lines" when the first gloss is already "line"? I think the qualifier "one's" can lead to confusion. I'm sure it's correct in that an actor etc. could use it to refer specifically to their lines, but this isn't usage that dominates, it's usually about the lines of a fictional character (as most people just aren't actors).

The JEs are not wrong but they are trying to give natural translations.
The JEs assume you know what the Japanese means already.

It's very rarely that "seem bitter" - unless the context specifically calls for it - would be used over plain "is bitter" in natural English prose.

It's a good idea to be better than the JEs here, even if it makes the glosses awkward.

I don't think it's needed on arch terms but I think it should be included on obsc terms when it's obvious that the kanji form(s) would rarely be used (as is the case here). Looks odd to have rK on 此れ許り but not 此れっ許り.

I've been avoiding using rK on words that are obsc or arch. The hiragana is rare too so it seems better to leave off.
