Comments: | "trunk room" does exist as a term in English but I don't think it's used with this meaning (I've never heard it before). Googling "trunk room" returns some images of storage units but they're all from Japanese sites. |

Comments: | It was used for sense 2 in my case — 国を盛り立てる after a disaster had struck. According to above article, 毎日新聞 mentioned it but considered it incorrect, but 三省堂国語辞典 has added it as a separate word in the 7th edition. The article quotes those definitions. Since many dictionaries phrase the definition for sense 2 as 再び盛んにする the confusion between kanji seems warranted. |

It is a town- or city-level meeting in which decisions are made, in contrast with town hall meetings held by state and national politicians to answer questions from their constituents, which have no decision-making power." daijs: 政治家や閣僚などが一般市民に対して行う対話型の集会。 |

Comments: | "town meeting" and "town hall meeting" are not synonyms. Looks like タウンミーティング is only used with the "town hall meeting". Koj has a second sense but describes it as American. I wasn't familiar with either of these terms. They're not used in the UK. |

Comments: | I originally found this in the Tokyo Jihen song "Killer Tune". ( http://music.goo.ne.jp/lyric/LYRUTND55190/index.html ) After showing it to my Japanese teacher, she immediately recognized the meaning and explained it as it is above; this and over 629k+ google hits lead me to believe it's fairly common, despite the fact that I can't seem to find any solid dictionary resources. |

Comments: | In response to Claudio, you picked the right corpus. JMnedict is for proper names (i.e. names of places, people, works, etc.) We also have proper names in JMdict but it's a small subset. See the editorial policy (linked above) for more information. Thanks for your submission. |

I've read the help (https://www.edrdg.org/jmdictdb/cgi-bin/edhelp.py?svc=jmdict&sid=#kw_src), but could not find the difference between jmdict and jmnedict. I picked jmdict.
