Comments: | I think it's more accurate to say that パンク is an abbreviation the English "puncture". None of the refs have a パンクチュア entry. The kokugos give the etymology as "punctureから", "punctureの略", etc. Since the link between パンク and "puncture" is quite plain to see, I don't think a note is necessary. |

Comments: | I don't think "going over" is right. GG5 uses a rather free translation for "財政はパンク寸前だ". The subject of "going over" (in the context of a budget) would be a person, company, etc., not the budget itself. Also, 財政 doesn't mean "budget". Sense 1 isn't an abbreviation. |

Comments: | All the sites I looked at for 写真結婚 and フォトウェディング discussed the photos in the context of 前撮り/後撮り/etc. In other words, there was a wedding but it was/would be at a different time from the photoshoot. It's not *just* a photo after which the couple go different ways. Re the mail-order, all the discussion I have seen on this practice involved an exchange of photos - a sort of remote omiai. "mail-order" implies a catalogue, and I have never seen reference to such things in the historical practice of overseas Japanese communities. I've suggested a trim of the first gloss. |

It's certainly mixed in the engine coolant in places where temperatures get low enough to have the risk of it freezing, which is why I think that Valvoline page elides the two terms. None of the JEs I checked gloss the term that way. |

Comments: | homonym of 自殺, kind of glad it's rare. I'll stop adding [rare] here on the list, as even though the other terms are comparatively rare, they aren't exactly rare in isolation. If you think it would be appropriate to add [rare] or [see] references to any of the higher entries, I'd be happy to do so. Otherwise I won't worry about it further. 寺 and 寺院 are at least flagged as common. Weird note... google news returns some results, but more Chinese and Korean than Japanese. Particularly large number of korean results for a kanji search. |
