"「怒られるからやめろ」と言ったことで、その女性は(子供に怒る)悪者にされたと感じてしまったのでしょう。

逆に言えば質問者さんは悪者になりたくない、子供に嫌われたくないと思っていませんか。"
"bad guy" is the perfect translation here. ("bad fellow" sounds like an archaism)

I think calling them "small pieces" may cause confusion with katsuobushi shavings (削り節).
The fish are certainly small, but the pieces may be half or a quarter of the entire fish.

Yes, かつおぶし is a traditional wedding gift, and it's sometimes written using the (very rare) ateji form of 勝男武士. but I don't think that form is common enough (1/600th of the usage) to flag it in that way.

"In modern Japanese, ateji principally refer to kanji used to phonetically represent native or borrowed words with less regard to the underlying meaning of the characters. This is similar to man'yōgana in Old Japanese. Conversely ateji also refers to kanji used semantically without regard to the readings."

Not really ateji as the meaning of the characters is important in these betrothal gift words. It's really an instance of phono-semantic matching.

It was in the text which I was reading. I do not know the number of Google hits because your link with Google on my computer has now dropped the number of hits counter. However, you have the following on site so the above would not be out of place; and would perhaps be more common:-

If the a + b reasoning comes in, I suppose that sloping land would be obvious, but then so would some of the above.
