let's take オバアサン[nokanji] out too, I think it's really marginal. The ngrams aren't necessarily correct on the frequency either, the
first google result for example is a book on amazon called "オバアサンタチノ集マリ", second is weblio (e.g. this entry), 3rd is a book
called ネコノオバアサン...

I agree, there are too many. I like to include them as they help text glossing, but I can also add the tail end to a special glossing dictionary. People should be able to recognize おバーさん if they come across it.

  Comments:
顳 is rarer than it looks, since 顳かみ is also a valid form.

I use two fonts for reviewing kanji, a handwritten font which is missing a lot of uncommon kanji, and a stroke-order font that has *almost* everything. I was shocked to find the stroke-order font had 顳 but not 顬. This may indicate there is a reason why "顳かみ" pops up as a valid form, even though both kanji seem equally esoteric to me. (This is why I include it, instead of [sK]).

What legitimization is there for ドイツ文化 and アメリカ文化 to be in the dictionary, unlike so many others such as フランス文化、中国文化
etc.? I reckon the meaning would already become obvious from the two separate lemmas.

Or at least that's how I'd transcribe what I heard. (it was subtitled in standard Japanese as こんなに, but that's normal of course)
こぎゃあ is in nikk with this meaning but no hits in the ngrams...

Given that this expressions is used to emphasise the size/extent of a difference, I think "completely" should be in there somewhere.
I think "stand no comparison" is fine. It's idiomatic. Daijr even has "比べものにならない" in its definition for 桁が違う.

Similarly 生きるべきか死ぬべきか gets 5142 in the n-grams, but I wouldn't make it an entry because it's (just) the translation of a very famous English passage.

I think this is less helpful and I think examples of a genre should have xrefs to the genre, not the other way around.
I had a hard time imagining what a "comparison game" was until I looked up the detailed descriptions. I think mentioning there's two
players and that there's a judge is helpful.

in the The Princeton Dictionary of Buddhism (p 313)
"In Chinese, “dried shit stick,” a CHAN expression attributed to LINJI YIXUAN (d. 867), who dismissed the buddha-nature, or FOXING
(what he calls the “true man of no rank”; C. WUWEI ZHENREN), as being nothing more than a “dried shit stick"
plenty more on google books, in a 1991 book by Dennis Genpo Merzel for example: "One master when asked, “What is Buddha?” said, “A shit
stick,”..."
  Comments:
hm. daijs says this is "dried shit in the shape of a stick" "乾いた棒状の糞(くそ)。" but "一説に、くそかきべらで、不浄なもののたとえ。"
daijr and nikk agree: "伝統的にくそかきべらと解されてきたが、本来は乾いた棒状の大便。" "乾いた棒状の糞。誤って、糞を拭うのに用いた乾いたへらと
も解される。"

I'm not really seeing "person attached to the world of appearance" though? daijs says "不浄なもののたとえ。" daijr says "常識的な観念を
打破するため、仏や禅僧の比喩として用いる。" nikk "また、もっともきたないもの、取るに足りないもののたとえに用いられる。"

I know the note is pretty long, but I feel "dried shit stick" should be in there somehow. The other way to format it is maybe having
3 senses (e.g. 1) sth worthless, 2) stick-shaped shit, 3) dried shit stick), but I don't actually think this would be a better
solution.
