Is it at all common for people to misread 酷似 as ごくに? Similarly, would anyone read 極似 as こくじ? I doubt it. I think 極似 should be a separate entry with a note indicating that it's non-standard or slang.

顳 is rarer than it looks, since 顳かみ is also a valid form.

I use two fonts for reviewing kanji, a handwritten font which is missing a lot of uncommon kanji, and a stroke-order font that has *almost* everything.  I was shocked to find the stroke-order font had 顳 but not 顬.  This may indicate there is a reason why "顳かみ" pops up as a valid form, even though both kanji seem equally esoteric to me. (This is why I include it, instead of [sK]).

I'm with Rene in that to me "emergency road"  means a road to use in emergencies. We need to reflect that official version somehow as people will see it, hence this suggested additional gloss. An alternative may be a note: "official translation is `emergency road'".

Whatever we go with, it won't be entirely correct because ありがとうございました is used in various set expressions and situations where (logically) you'd expect ありがとうございます.
