Comments: | OK. Searching for いかがわっしい now gets: いかがわっしい (etc.) See: 如何わしい |
|
5. | A 2020-07-22 23:55:33 Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
Comments: | Yes, I can see some unintended consequences of putting in pseudo-entries for patterns like いかがわっしい. I'll handle it a different way which will simply point to the base entry. SHould take a day or so to spread. |
|
4. | A* 2020-07-22 12:27:53 Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
Comments: | Seeing as there's a similar ghost entry for したっしい, I think this is something Jim has automated to deal with things like しょっぼい, an emphatic version of しょぼい? (rejected entry suggestion 2845566) It's a little unfortunate however if these actually appear in searches for "suspicious" etc. on WWWJDIC. I think it'd be fine to scrap this entirely, but the ideal might be if these forms could be recognized if you search for them but just display the いかがわしい, しょぼい etc. entries instead. |

Comments: | Hi, there seems to be a phantom entry in WWWJDIC: いかがわしい 《如何わしい》 (adj-i) (1) (uk) suspicious; dubious; unreliable; (2) (uk) indecent; unseemly [Links] いかがわっしい (See 如何わしい) (adj-i) (1) (uk) suspicious; dubious; unreliable; (2) (uk) indecent; unseemly [Links] If you try the edit database links on the いかがわっしい entry, they lead to an error page |

Comments: | "splasher" might not be a common enough term for us to use it in modern english, but that doesn't make スプラッシャー wasei, and i wouldn't tag it wasei without some evidence it does have appear to have this meaning in english, though not neccessariy restricted to cars (although the wiktionary reference used below does specify this). it does seem pretty likely to me that it came from english |

Comments: | I agree with Nicolas, it doesn't make sense that a "reverse X" has the exact same meaning as "X" itself. But looking at google images, it's like Jim said mostly picture two women and one man, or three women, not at all as described in Nicolas sources and the one above. This makes me think this word isn't really well-defined and maybe thrown around like 逆レイプ (woman-on-man rape i.e. to mean it's the women who are the initiators) sometimes and other times referring to 3 women... as such, I don't think it should be an entry. |
