if the numbers are in the context of a formula, quantity, measurement, etc. use figures (e.g. 1.5 kilograms);
if the numbers are in something more descriptive or narrative, in general use words for numbers up to ten (e.g. three kings,
five flowers), and figures for numbers over ten (e.g. 147 angels). In some cases, such as the 三十三所 entry, "thirty-three

"four days", etc. looks better to me but days of the month are typically written using numbers (i.e. "4th March"/"March 4th" is more common than "fourth of March"/"March fourth").

if the numbers are in the context of a formula, quantity, measurement, etc. use figures (e.g. 1.5 kilograms);
if the numbers are in something more descriptive or narrative, in general use words for numbers up to ten (e.g. three kings,
five flowers), and figures for numbers over ten (e.g. 147 angels). In some cases, such as the 三十三所 entry, "thirty-three
temples" looks more natural than "33 temples".

policy
if the numbers are in the context of a formula, quantity, measurement, etc. use figures (e.g. 1.5 kilograms);
if the numbers are in something more descriptive or narrative, in general use words for numbers up to ten (e.g. three kings,
five flowers), and figures for numbers over ten (e.g. 147 angels). In some cases, such as the 三十三所 entry, "thirty-three
temples" looks more natural than "33 temples".

I'll use roman numerals for the glosses for days 1-10 for consistency

Interesting point. Of course it's not something my Japanese teachers ever said - understandable I guess ' they wanted us to say it correctly. In those circumstances including such readings with an "ik" tag is probably appropriate.

  Comments:
I think the big difference between the reading にじゅうにち and entries of the ろにん, ろまんじ variety that ended up deleted is that
those weren't the type of misspellings that native Japanese speakers actually do. They weren't about documenting the language as
it's actually used. Having にじゅうにち here, on the other hand, is not about accommodating learners making mistakes, it's about
showing that Japanese people actually do pronounce it this way too (and some even arguing it's as correct as はつか). I do think it
should be included here, but if we don't want to do that, I don't think we should have it as a separate "incorrect" entry either.
6. A* 2021-10-23 05:15:07  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I'm very wary of having にじゅうにち even with an "ik" tag. I could accept it in a separate "mis-spelling" entry, but as with our former ろにん, ロマンジ, こにちわ, etc. entries we've gone away from that approach.
I suggest dropping it.

I think that's because JEs like GG5 also cater to Japanese native speakers who are writing in English and are therefore concerned about register. The colloquial/derogatory glosses are always tagged as such.
I don't think we need to do that here. "Rat" is unlikely to be a helpful gloss to the sort of people who use jmdict (Japanese learners and J->E translators).

  Comments:
Daijs is the only ref that refers to a literal smell (and even then, it's "人間の体臭*のような*におい"). If we want a second sense, "smelling like a human" probably isn't an appropriate gloss.

A start. If OK, I'll add progressively. I see that you did 24 without the 2nd meaning, no doubt because of its irregularity, but I have followed example for 11th and 11 days.

Sorry for lapses, or maybe my general standard!

Hoping that the above is OK.

I was not sure about how to get the indent for the wording so I have just used 2 spaces.
