It is a coordinating conjunction between two predicative elements, the usual "and" 中止法 of a 連用形.
Now, it is true that it is not the same as [1], which is a subordinating conjunction, yet has the same tag.
This is more so a consequence of the tag itself than anything else. It is just 'conjunction', and it is found both in coordinating and subordinating conjunctions across the corpus as follows:
Coordinating: 又、けれども、或いは、と(Noun coordinator)、でも...
Subordinating: なら、たら、と(Predicate subordinator)、ないで...

Changed [aux-v] to [aux] to be in accordance with べし, though I think [aux-adj] may be clearer as this does not have the [adj-shiku] tag to indicate what word category it belongs to.

The ず for is also continuative (equiv. to 〜ないで) according to M&T's Intermediate grammar dictionary.
Normally I'd be happy to drop this as people looking it up will get a good match with どうすることもできない, but at around 20k in the n-grams, maybe it's worth having as well.
4. A* 2020-03-28 00:04:00  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
But the ず just turns it into an adverb. It's not really a variant but rather a different grammatical form. Plenty of 〜ない expressions can be written like this. The glosses would need to be changed but I don't think we need the entry at all; it's enough to have どうする事も出来ない.

I think this has to be handled in association with どうすることもできない, which is essentially the same term, albeit much more common. The できない version is in GG5, Tanaka examples, etc. Given that it's accepted as an entry, I don't think we should block the できず variant.

  Comments:
A couple of days ago, media were saying ロ
ックダウン(都市封鎖), now many have
switched to just saying 都市封鎖 (which I
think is good, little-used gairaigo is
confusing for many people). Nobody is
saying just 封鎖 for lockdown though. 都市
封鎖 has quickly been established as the
Japanese equivalent of "lockdown (caused
by a viral outbreak)". So I think this is
more than just A+B.

I'm a bit reluctant to throw it away, so I'll stretch a point with the 運動 and move it to the names file.

With the improved ベルマーク entry, I think this can be rejected.

It's hard to generalize in a few words (Merriam-Webster has a multi-volume guide for its staff.)
In this case I felt something was needed in the way of an explanation. I considered just having the ベルマーク entry alone, having expanded it from the rather useless transliteration, but in the end I thought having both was better, but I've left it open for other editors to consider. In these sorts of cases we usually try and align the meanings fields, as I have done here.
Note that ベルマーク運動 and ベルマーク alone can't be in the same entry, HTH.

I'd like to know what is the appropiete thing to do in a case like this, for future edits as well. Adding the expresion and reading to the entry in xref? In other words, kana only expressions can be mixed with expressions with kanji, just sorting them by frecuency? [when 2/3 rule applies]
