Comments: | This entry has been deleted (and the readings added to 1133140). I believe the "Major League" entries were tagged so that "baseball" didn't have to be specified in the gloss. This could be considered inconsistent with our practice of not tagging league names and competitions, but that's just how it is for now. |

Comments: | The referenced news item and a related conversation with a native speaker has brought up a lingering concern on my part: could it be that 入り交じる and 入り混じる might perhaps not be as interchangeable as one might infer from the dictionary entry? We suspect that the former applies to human beings doing the "mingling/mixing" or being/getting "mingled/mixed" (applicable to both the active voice and the passive voice), while the latter applies to things as well as concepts (notions/ideas/memes) doing the "mingling/mixing" (or being/getting "mingled/mixed"). Is there any evidence to support such a differentiation? |

4. | A* 2020-03-24 23:57:42 Jim Breen <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | It's hard to generalize in a few words (Merriam-Webster has a multi-volume guide for its staff.) In this case I felt something was needed in the way of an explanation. I considered just having the ベルマーク entry alone, having expanded it from the rather useless transliteration, but in the end I thought having both was better, but I've left it open for other editors to consider. In these sorts of cases we usually try and align the meanings fields, as I have done here. Note that ベルマーク運動 and ベルマーク alone can't be in the same entry, HTH. |

Comments: | I'd like to know what is the appropiete thing to do in a case like this, for future edits as well. Adding the expresion and reading to the entry in xref? In other words, kana only expressions can be mixed with expressions with kanji, just sorting them by frecuency? [when 2/3 rule applies] |
