Comments: | I was keen to keep a plain "at" sense as well for cases like アットホーム and アットバット, but on the checking the n-grams I agree they are outliers. That said I think it's useful for text glossing and segmentation purposes. I have put it into a specials file for WWWJDIC but perhaps it can be considered as a second sense here. |

|
Comments: | I agree with dropping あっと and the lsrc tag. I also don't think we need a general "at" sense. The number of expressions containing "アット" is very small, and we have separate entries for them. The only ref that has アット/at is daijs, and both senses refer to the @ sign. |

Comments: | Could be a second gloss on the third sense, but that screws with calling it an abbr of 新型コロナウイルス感染症 not sure what to call this sense 4 an abbr of. コロナ過 is maybe the closest? enwiki has one article for COVID-19 and a separate one for the COVID-19 pandemic. Comments: | The English word "MILF" itself doesn't really imply that somebody necessarily wants to have sex with somebody. The Google dictionary for example suggests: "a sexually attractive older woman, typically one who has children." The Oxford English Dictionary defines the term as "an attractive and stylish young mother" (according to enwiki, whose own definition on the other hand doesn't mention motherhood). Cambridge.org suggests "a sexually attractive woman who is a mother". Notably nobody seems to be defining it as "a mother who the speaker, by using this word to describe them, is indicating a desire to have sex with", so the word obviously has a meaning beyond what's implied by spelling out the acronym. I don't think 2 different senses are called for. It's not as if "MILF" is exclusively used in porn contexts in English. A "MILF" and a "sexually attractive woman" both seem to refer to the same two things, in most cases. That a "sexually attractive older woman" appears in an X-rated movie doesn't meaningfully change the meaning of the word used to describe her. We don't split おっぱい in this way, for example. I also think the word is always [col], bordering on [vulg], whether in a porn context or not. native informer, Osakan in her 30's: "ちょっと下ネタ的なニュアンス が感じられる" |

They seem to mean much the same, although there may be a nuance about the latter which escapes me. They only overlap via an okurigana-free variant of 隔て心. I really don't think that's anything like enough to merge them. In JMdict we merge entries more aggressively than any other dictionary AFAICT, but I don't think we should go too far. |

Comments: | "死語かどうかは、「わかりま千円」" - very cute. And 10 years ago it was being described as possibly 死語? |

Comments: | yes, it must be. the other example on that page (死語かどうかは、「わかりま千円」) reminds me of when my coworker used to say おつかれさマンコ at the end of the day. |

Comments: | 十匹 is じゅっぴき, not とうひき. i agree that 蟻が十匹 is likely to be pronounced ありがとう, with とう being a gikun reading of 十匹. i also agree that we may not need this entry, although we do have a number of other 'internet wordplay' entries similar to this |

Comments: | As absurd as it sounds, I think the 匹 probably is pronounced. On Twitter, there are plenty of hits for "蟻が10" (without the 匹). But I question whether we even need this as an entry. Wordplay of this sort is extremely common on the Japanese internet and very little of it is worth recording in a dictionary. |
