Comments: | Had an intuition to add "incomparable" (with the accent con "co") to 類いない, just based on the kanji. Then I saw 類いない was a relatively uncommon term, and that this was a more common synonym. There are contexts where all these glosses apply, but it seems like "unparalleled; incomparable; unmatched" should lead, given both the literal nuance, and the frequency in reverso. I wouldn't mind trimming beyond that. It also seems there's a time and a place for the gloss "beyond compare" or "without compare". Especially as 比類なく ... Seems we usually do: unparalleled; unparallelled , and unrivaled/unrivalled |
