What does everyone think of something like
this? It seems like this usage is especially
well-established in sports, while it seems to
be more commonly ”戦国時代" within quotes when
it's non-sports contexts (e.g. food delivery
apps, idol groups), which seems less
dictionary entry-worthy, but there's a lot of
overlap. If this goes in, 戦国時代 should
probably have a similar sense.

頡頏/けっこう has an additional sense. 頡頏 is the only kanji form for that sense, so it can't be rK.

Koj is a bit old-fashioned with okurigana (and many other things). The JEs and more modern kokugos stick very much to 流行/りゅうこう and 流行り/はやり. I'm not sure whether Tyler is suggesting a (re)merge of the entries, or just adding 流行[io] to the はやり entry. I wouldn't object to the latter.

The newest edition of sankoku (but not the older ones) has this as [vs,vt].

It also has a new colloquial sense ('to buy / purchase something important') that it says became popular in the 2010s. We might want to see if it sticks around before adding it, though.

Daijs's definition isn't saying that it refers to the person, only that it shows respect for the person. The shinmeikai definition is for 迎え, not お迎え. But there's no reason to think that the polite form isn't used in the same way. Prog also has an example.

daijr:【旧車会】
① 往年の名車とされるオートバイや自動車の所有者が集う愛好会。車両のチューン-ナップや改造,ツーリングなどを楽しむ。〔②と混同されやすいが,①は違法行為はしない〕
② 暴走族 OB によって結成されるグループ。旧車の違法改造や集団暴走などを行う。旧車會。
  Comments:
旧車会 isn't limited to cars. Also, Google images mostly returns results containing "旧車會" when you search "旧車会". I found a couple of examples of 旧車会 where it's not referring to bōsōzoku-like groups.
Daijr has a single 旧車会 entry but gives 旧車會 as a synonym for the second sense.
There are example online of 旧車会 being used with the sense 2 meaning but 旧車會 dominates.
We could merge them but we'd need [restr=旧車会] on sense 1 and a "esp. 旧車會" note on sense 2. Sense 1 doesn't appear to be very common.

Hm. All the google image results for 旧車会

Unless the "car club" sense can be attested

Maybe "corn dog stuffed with cheese" would be a better gloss.

There's also apparently a synonym ハットグ originating from Korean, which I'm almost certain refers to a corn dog stuffed
with cheese rather than any other kind of cheese dog. I'll add that once we figure out the wording for this entry.
