Comments: | Of all my refs, Nikkoku is the _only_ one that makes reference to a literal garden. Considering every other ref only has a "paradise" gloss, I feel this should be removed. Or else relegated to a separate gloss with a tag indicating it is not a modern meaning. Besides, the nikk definition only talks about the garden being enjoyable, not the specific thing known as a pleasure garden (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleasure_garden). |

Comments: | With Jean-Luc's welcome assistance we've now got downstream processing going for this character type - it can't go into the legacy EUC files but should be OK in the UTF8 ones. However, I'm now having doubts about whether the entry is correct. When I Google for "あ゙ー" I get a lot of hits but for "あ゛ー", i.e. for the version with a non-combining ゛. It seems like that's the actual version out there. Maybe I should make this entry have both あ゙ー and あ゛ー? |

Comments: | Looking at this more closely, I see I missed the point completely. It's not a special "ー" at all, the proposed change is to use あ゙ and ア゙ instead of/as well as あ and ア. In case you can't see it, あ゙ is あ followed by the Unicode "COMBINING KATAKANA-HIRAGANA VOICED SOUND MARK", which overlays the あ as it's a non-spacing character. At present the downstream processing can't handle these. I'll have to put it to one side for now. |
